The Edwardian society was very similar to the Victorian, and the Liberal Party introduces some new reforms:  Old age pensions (age of 70).  Minimal wage.  Beside the Education Act (school compulsury) the children got free meals and free medical treats.  Health and Insurance Act to protect workers when they were sick or unemployed. And when the WW1 broke out a lot of young people were recruited to fight for their country -many of them were also volunteers. They had an optimistic view of the war, they thought that England was great at fighting. An example is the “Will you make a fourth” an ironic poster that invited people to help in the war. The same attitude towards war was in authors like Rupert Brooke. RUPERT BROOKE
