Nowadays, technology has changed our society drastically, both positively and negatively. Modern technology has influenced every aspect of our life, making it simpler but not necessarily better. They have slowly taken an essential part in people’s day-to-day life and live without them would be unimaginable for a lot of us. In this essay I will explain about the advantages and disadvantages of technology in everyday life. Firstly, new technologies and their evolution can help our everyday life and, these are beneficial for us for several reasons. For example, through google or through other search engines we can access all the data and information on the internet: daily news, notion of general culture… In addiction, at the medical field, in everyday life, technologies can help, for example, people with cardiac arrest: nowadays there are new defibrillators that can be used by everyone, even by people who aren’t doctors, the medical tool provides simple and clear voice directions. On the other hand, the evolution of new technologies in everyday life has some disadvantages, for example, addiction: scientific studies have determined that about 10% of young people suffer from internet or video games addiction. Internet addiction presents various symptoms such as poor hygiene or social isolation. It is so difficult for people addicted to internet to get out of it. In my opinion, modern technologies have more advantages than disadvantages. Certainly, the use of technologies must be moderate, especially for young people. The main problem is that technology is often misused without counting the resulting damage. In conclusion, I think that technologies should help our everyday life, not slave us.
