CHARLOTTE BRONTE She was born in 1816 in England (Yorkshire) and died 1855 JANE EYRE - PLOT : Jane Eyre was poor orphan girl grown up by her cruel aunt. She was send in a structure for orphan and during her childhood she was able to resist to the hardship of structure and got an education. She became the governess of Adele, the illegitimate daughter of Mr Rochester. She fell in love with him and they were getting marriage, but during the marriage she discovered that he was already marriage with another woman. At the end of the story she died and Jane and Mr Rochester could marry. The main themes of the novel are horror, madness, passion, dreams that they are typical of the Gothic genre. The Gothic genre is also represented by supernatural events, for example when she hears the voice of Mr Rochester despite he was far miles away. Rochester and Jane are Romantic heroes, he is a kind of byronic hero: intelligence and arrogant at the same time. The novel is realistic novel and talks about the development of a woman from her childhood to her adulthood and the rule of the women during the Victorian age. The novel teaches us the fact that only through education you can change your social position. She believes in the independence of the women and their values. In fact Jane has respect and love self and when she discovers that Mr Rochester was already marriage, she choose to not marry him until he will broke up with her.
