The Bronte’s family was made up of six children (five daughters and a son) and their father, Reverend Patrick Bronte, who was a man of remarkable intelligence although very eccentric. Emily, like two of her sisters, Charlotte and Anne, was extremely precocious and started writing poems and stories at a very early age. The three sisters published a collection of poems in 1846 under the male pseudonyms of Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell. Emily wrote only one novel, Wuthering Heights, published in 1847. She died the year after at the age of 30. WORKS • Poems by Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell • Wuthering Heights WUTHERING HEIGHTS Wuthering Heights is a novel published in 1847.
