Writing Part 1 Learning a foreign language can always be an enjoyable and helpful activity, especially for young people. Despite the fact that makes students reflect on their native language, I think one of the most important reasons for speaking more than one language fluently is that it gives them the opportunity to travel and go abroad by themselves. Indeed, if they speak a given language perfectly, they will not have difficulty in living there and talking with others. In addition, English is thought to be a universal language because it is known all around the world. This allows non-English people which speaks English to adapt in every situation they are and to travel everywhere. Another point to consider is that nowadays companies need more bilingual employers. This means young people who speaks two or more language have more possibility to find a job. According to me, learning foreign languages is an open mind experience that helps youngsters to be more extrovert and to have more opportunities in their future. Writing Part 2 Although I have never travelled abroad too much, last summer I made a journey in England. In particular, I went to London for about two weeks. My school friends (who have never gone to England, too) and I left from the Venice airport on 12th July. Despite the duration of the voyage, when we arrived to Heathrow airport, we were really excited and enthusiastic to see a country we had always seen only pictures of the city. During the journey, we had time to see the most of the main tourist attractions in the centre like The London Eye, The British Museum, Buckingham Palace, the Tower Bridge and also the Tower of London. I really liked the frenetic atmosphere but I also hated the weather because nobody never knows if it will be sunny or rainy or whatever. Despite this, what made the journey funny and interesting was to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace: like us, a lot of tourists stopped to watch it behind the huge gate. Super Size I am not a lover of documentaries, but recently I happened to see the TV documentary “Super Size Me” on Focus channel. I decided to watch it because of the story, after having read some brief information about it on the Internet. The documentary was directed and interpreted by the journalist Morgan Spurlock with the purpose of demonstrating the bad diet offered by fast food restaurants. It shows an experiment during which the protagonist is followed by a nutritionist and a personal trainer and must follow some particular rules: he must eat three McDonald’s meals per day for thirty days, and he can only buy items from McDonald’s Menu. Moreover, he must choose to order Super Size menu when offered. After the challenge, the journalist feels depressed and gains about ten kilos. I really liked this documentary and I would recommend it to my friends because it is helpful to reflect on how a company can influence governments and our lifestyle and allows thinking of improving our diet by eating healthy food. Doing sports outside is better than doing sports inside. What do you think? Sport is always a pleasant experience to have fun with friends or alone. Doing sports inside and outside can be both enjoyable activities but, at the same time, they are different each other. So which one is better?
