As regards foreign language learning, there are two points of views: some people affirm that the only reason for learning (it) one is to travel to or to work in a foreign country. Other people (affirm) claim/maintain/argue that these two reasons aren’t the only moAves why someone should learn a foreign language. So what are the most valid reasons for studying another language? Firstly, the reasons why some choose to learn a foreign language is because of the dynamism of our life. Nowadays a lot of people can travel to and work in a foreign country very oGen, but this is possible only if this these people speaking the language required where they are going to go. (Moreover,) it’s true that it’s possible to travel even if one doesn’t speak the language of that country, but (it’s not safe) this exposes travellers to certain risks. Wherever every person goes, they need to speak the foreign language to ask for help, ask for informaAon, and to work in an (good) efficient way. Secondly, the foreign language learning is useful because every day we could meet foreign people in need (that need help) in our country too. Indeed, aGer the pandemic years, a lot of people want to visit other countries and most of them come to Italy for tourism. Especially in Verona, where every day there are an enormous number of tourists, and they oGen ask for informaAon about the city and its monuments or about their history, or direcAons. In my opinion, foreign language learning is useful and it is (needed currently) now an essenAal skill. It’s wonderful to can be able to talk to foreign people and understand what they say, it’s amazing to make new friends, it’s marvellous to get to know other cultures, habits, and lifestyles. It’s beauAful to be ciAzens of the world.
