Freedom of opinion is a fundamental and precious human right. It is crucial in a democracy and allows the citizens to speak freely. But is a personal opinion necessarily always right? We can associate what is right with ethics and morality and what is wrong with everything illegal. But, unfortunately, most people involved in evil behaviour don't see that behaviour as evil. Freedom of speech is sometimes dangerous and probably without freedom of speech racism wouldn't exist. On the other hand, thanks to it, I'm able to write what you are reading and writers do have a job. People deserve to have a voice and as Voltaire once said: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” The society is the real problem, and not the freedom of opinion. Everything connected with the word “freedom” is actually a good thing. The society allows people to be racist, to have sexually offensive languages or to silence women in public debates, but in the meantime it censors nude figures, homosexuality or any kind of criticism and that is the real problem. We think we live in a free society, but we do not. If we want to be free anyway, we have to let the others be and if we do not want to hear or to see we can simply leave or close the tab.
