According to some people, it is more important to find a job that brings you joy rather than just base your career related choices on the amount of salary you would earn. On the other hand, others prefer to believe that a wholesome income is a guarantee of a greater existence. This dilemma is something that all of us come upon when we have to select a profession to which we will dedicate ourselves. Personally, I am of the opinion that it is more important to find a job that you would enjoy doing. According to a famous saying: “ find a job you enjoy and you will not have to work a day in your life”. This statement proves to be true because if a person is able to transform their hobbies into jobs, they do not feel as burdened as people who do the job they hate. It is evident that if you enjoy what you do, then it brings you happiness and other positive emotions. Furthermore, those positive emotions can also motivate you and that would for sure make you work more effectively and reach greater achievements. If you are satisfied, motivated and your job brings you success, then money will eventually come too. However it is also true that usually people who possess a stable payment find it easier to enjoy life. Some even say that it is hard not to enjoy a job that gives you a big amount of fortune. In this way, a person is kind of programmed into liking their occupation. Therefore, even though the work does not bring any happiness or any sort of satisfaction, the aspect that regards money is what might make that work seem enjoyable. Additionally, in some cases, choosing not to follow your hobbies when making a career plan might save you from a state of burnt out, which represents something negative and sad since you start to despise things that normally would bring you joy. We could say that though it is true that enjoying a job is more important than earning money, it would be wonderful if we enjoyed the job and earned a lot of money from it. Enjoying ourselves is a matter of attitude: we can find enjoyment anywhere if we look hard enough. But if given a definite choice that we can have only one way or the other, I would agree that enjoying a job is more important than money. Even if in the end you might choose following finances over pleasure, I found it important to continue practicing something that lights up your day, even as a hobby, otherwise the risk is to fall into a miserable existence.
