I own them and I can say they are good! Firstly, solar panels don't damage the environment because they use solar heat,which is a renewable power source,to produce thermal energy. ​To me more investments should be made in this kind of energy. Secondly,in my view, solar panels are useful because you produce the energy you need; if you don't use it all,you can even sell it to companies! Although it's not very well paid, it's better than nothing and the methan bill will cost lower! So, if you spend a little bit more to buy panels, you will be rewarded! In conclusion, I think that solar panels and also renewable energy in general,have lots of advantages, even though they are not used much.Remember that if you opt for them, you are respecting the environment!
