ESSAY-ROMEO AND JULIET (act2, scene 2) Romeo and Juliet 's love is present troughout the tragedy, in different ways. In the extract Shakespeare conveys the strenght of their love through the conversation about their names. “And I'U no longer be a Capulet“ shows the strenght of their love in this passage. Iuliet is willing to give up her family name to be with Romeo. Reputation and family name were important in this period. It would bring shame to the Capulet's family, because of the feud between the two families. Both Romeo and Juliet are aware of the consequences of their love, but continue to love each other showing the strenght. Romeo uses religious lenguage to describe Juliet, “bright angel‘, “dear saint“. This suggest that their love is holy and pure. At the time Shakespeare was writing, religion was much more important so the audience would understand the strenght of this words. Near the end oft he passage we can sce that Romeo is willing to risk his life to see Juliet, and to tell'her how much he loves her, “my life were better ended by their hate, than death prorogued wanting of thy love“. In conclusion Shakespeare conveys the strenght of Romeo and Juliet 's love by showing that they would both die for each other. Shakespeare used the fight between the two families to underline the strenght of their love.
