However, as in all things, the are some advantages and disadvantages and it is important to keep them in mind, in case you are unsure on doing it.  On the one hand it gives you time to pursue other passions and taking a long break from your studies gives you the chance to think about what you really love to do. You could spend your time pursuing hobbies and interests that are often stashed away in favour of studying  On the other hand the worst scenario of taking a sabbatical year is that you may completely lose your craving to start studying again. The last thing you want is your transition back into your studies being difficult.  To summarize, the gap year is a unique experience, but you have to reflect a lot about doing it.
