Nowadays a great percentage of the population doesn't engage in a very healthy lifestyle, therefore it is essential to underline the benefits of some weekly hours of physical activity. First of all sport is not beneficial only to bodybuilders and professional athletes, but to everyone. It is perfect in order to keep fit, to take a break from a sedentary life, to treat some medical conditions(an incorrect posture, a newly recovered ankle...),to relax your mind, to make some new aquaitances and so on. Furthermore there are a lot of options to choose from, it is just a matter of finding the best fit. Unfortunately sport alone is not enough: going to the gym three times a week won't help if accompanied by a diet entirely made of junk food. Physical activity and a balanced diet cannot be divided. It is also good to remember that diet does not equal giving up on every existing delicious food, but instead reducing some excesses and adding something more nutritious. Lastly seeking for professional advice is mandatory. Before taking up a new sport it is an excellent idea to ask a doctor for some guidelines especially in case of specific medical conditions. The same applies to a diet, a nutriaonist knows what someone's body needs better than a one month miraculous diet found on the internet. In the end the importance of physical activity is as clear as day, as Giovenale once said mens sana in corpore sano. Simona Borrasso
