FRANKENSTEIN ING The book entitled Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley is one of the most famous gothic / science fiction novels in history. I chose to read this book because despite knowing the myth of Frankenstein, I had never read the book or seen the film and  it is also one of the most famous horror masterpieces in the world so this seemed like a good opportunity to start reading it . PLOT: The epistolary novel, which is presented in the form of letters exchanged by Robert Walton to his sister during his journey to the North Pole, is about a scientist named victor Frankenstein. This young man is obsessed with the idea of giving life to inanimate matter and in the course of some secret research, he believes he has discovered the secret of life. Therefore, Victor spent several months trying to create a creature assembled from the body parts of dead bodies , and studied it by discovering the tomb in the cemetery at night. Eventually, one night, the creature comes to life, but when he sees the  monster moving, the creator runs away terrified . THEMES:It deals about three themes ,  The first fundamental theme of this book is definitely ambition. Victor has an insatiable desire for success and glory for his scientific breakthroughs to change the society. This desire is so great that it leads him to go beyond the limits of man, causing disasters that he cant neither handle nor fix. The second theme is isolation. When Victor entered his studies, he left human society, forgetting his responsibilities and the consequences of his actions. The monster seeks revenge not because he is evil, but because his isolation fills him with uncontrollable anger and hatred. What revenge does the monster seek against the master? Killing people dear to him in order to isolate him. The third theme, also the most important, is prejudice, which leads to the destruction of people.Human beings in fact assume that the monster is dangerous based only on the aesthetic aspect, when in reality he was born just like a child. , innocent and kind. In fact, the only man who treats him humanly is De Lacey who is blind. This theme is also very recurrent in real life, since most of the time we base our judgments on appearances that in the end deceive us. CHARACTERS : Victor Frankenstein is the first main character in history, the scientist obsessed with the creation of life. Already as a child he showed an attraction for science and physics, but only after his mother's scarlet death did he decide to devote his entire life to scientific research. He studied in Germany with his friend Henry Clerval, where he learned the secrets of science from some teachers.
