Hunting has been part of the human existence since the oldest time. Nowadays, hunting may not be necessary to have food, but it is still part of our culture. Hunting can be advantageous for the environment because it can help prevent animals from spreading diseases to other animals. It’s not easy to become an hunter: you must have an hunting license. Of course, in Europe there are strict laws that prevent over hunting. Moreover, hunting increases a person’s knowledge about nature. Most people who practice hunting, think that animals are able to defend themselves against human weapons, so they think that hunting is a competition between men and animals. Anyway, I think that hunting has much more disadvantages. First of all, some animal species have been driven to extinction due to hunting; second, very often hunting cause suffering to the animals. Even if they have been shot, the animal should continue living and suffering for an unknown period. Modern hunting has become a sport, so hunters pose with their kill without regard for what happens to the carcass. As form me, it’s really cruel. People says that there are many advantages in hunting, but I honestly think that hunting is a cruel and unnecessary sport. In fact, I think that Mother Nature is able to defend the delicate balance of ecosystems. Hunting causes a lot of stress on animals and limits their ability to eat adequately and store the fat and energy they need to survive the winter. Hunting also disrupts migration. For animals like wolves hunting can destroy entire communities. Hunting is also defined a sport but I don’t understand why. The concept of sport involves competition between two consenting parties, adherence to rules and fairness. For me, a situation that always lead to the death of the animal, can’t be considered a sport.
