Dubliners and A portrait of the Artist as a Young man - he’s till conventional in the structure, but with a focus on the protagonist 2. Ulysses and Finnegans Wake - he use now an experimental narration: he used the direct interior monologue The difference is not in the aim of the story but in the narrative technique: in the second part he uses the stream of consciousness. Joyce came back once only for his mother death ↳ Nationalistic movement: his father was friend with Charles Parnell one of the nationalistic movement representative. So he was against Dublin and church “Epiphany” ↳ is a moment revealing something of us, of our own soul, that you didn’t know. This discover may change your point of view in life. ↳ is the sudden spiritual manifestation caused by a trivial gesture Dubliners Collection of 15 short stories Dublin is a place where true feelings and compassion for others do not exist, where cruelty and selfishness lie just below the surface.
