Jane turns out to be a real innovation of the female figure in the Victorian age, as in this period, the figure of women was considered inferior to men. She is a charismatic, strong, intelligent and rebellious woman. She didn't appear to be very beautiful but nevertheless she was a real woman to be envied, she overcame many obstacles until she achieved happiness. She didn't stop if she didn't get what she wanted, Jane turns out to be an independent and passionate heroine. Jane is an orphan who, after the death of her parents, will be entrusted to her aunt and uncle. But when his uncle dies, his growth and education will be entrusted to his aunt, but he will have a very detached and cold relationship with her. Other family members also treated her badly and one day Jane decided to rebel and was sent to a charity home for orphans. Jane began to apply herself to study and overcame difficult moments such as the deaths of dear friends, after a few years she also managed to get a job as a teacher in the Thornfield Hall residence. Both Jane and Mr Ronchester fall in love and in particular the man sees in Jane her intelligence and not her beauty. After various meetings Jane discovers the darkest sides of Mr Ronchester but she always appears strong and determined, in fact she moves to another institute thinking about her work and her life, she will meet another man John who will ask her to marry him but she will refuse returning to his first love. When he returns to Thornfield he discovers that Bertha started a fire and Mr. Ronchester was maimed and blind, eventually Jane and Mr. Ronchester married and also had a son. The figure of Jane is particular because in the novel she does not have the beauty or charm of a woman, however she projects herself on an obsessive desire towards her first love. In conclusion Jane is a true manifesto of the strength, intelligence and beauty of women.
