Joyce's Ulysses: Inner Journeys and the Use of Time, Appunti di Inglese

James Joyce's UlyssesLiterary AnalysisNarrative TechniquesModernist Literature

James joyce's novel 'ulysses' explores the psychological wanderings of three characters - stephen, leopold bloom, and molly - in dublin, 1904. The first part focuses on stephen's search for a paternal figure, while leopold's odyssey begins with his departure for work, brooding over his wife and the death of their child. Their daily lives intertwine, and joyce's innovative use of time reflects modernist ideas of plot, characters, and language. The external, linear time is contrasted with the internal, subjective time, expanding the significance of events based on emotional intensity.
