In addition, the teacher will: - use visual and audio support such as pictures and videos - peer assesment to reduce anxiety - rearrange class environment -provide recordings of the lessons -extra time to carry out tasks Pre-requisites Being familiar with the historical and cultural context of the Romantic Age Being familiar with the main features of Romantic Poetry Being capable of analysing a poem and recognize figues of speech Being able of writing a short essay Being able of using the digital tools involved in the lesson Pre-requisites check Short quiz to check the basic knowledge of the period; each student can conduct the exercise alone. The teacher then shows the correct answers to the class. The lamb & the Tiger ESA (ENGAGE-STUDY- ACTIVATE) To Engage students, teacher lets them listen to both poems read aloud on YouTube. Students will be asked to take notes about the emotions each poem evokes. Activate – Moodboard • The teacher divides the students in pairs: one member of the pair will be assigned with «The Lamb» and the other with «The Tiger». • They will think about the themes and key concepts of both poems and collections and look for images they associate with them, then create a board (Pinterest/Canva) which represents their aesthetic (the teacher provides prompts as «what images make you think of Innocence?» etc.) . • They will provide a short comment about their choices and present it to their partner in class. Formative peer assesment TEACHER ASKS THE STUDENTS TO EVALUATE AND GIVE FEEDBACK TO EACH OTHER THROUGH THE «TWO STARS, ONE WISH» METHOD. THE PAIRS WILL HIGHLIGHT TWO POSITIVE ASPECTS OF EACH OTHER’S BOARD (TWO STARS), AS WELL AS GIVE ONE CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENT ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK THEIR PARTNER COULD HAVE TREATED DIFFERENTLY (ONE WISH). THE TEACHER WILL GIVE PROMPTS SUCH AS: «I THINK YOU DID WELL IN…» OR «WHAT YOU COULD WORK ON IS…» Homework At the end of the two hours lesson, as homework the students will revise what they have studied about Romantic Poetry and Blake’s work.
