Fad diets promise quick weight loss but can have serious health risks. Doctor-prescribed diets are used to cure health problems. Lifestyle diets go beyond food choices and can be a way of life. Macrobiotic diets focus on balance and chewing well, while vegetarian diets eliminate meat and dairy. The mediterranean diet is linked to italian cultural traditions and has been found to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

DIETS FAD SLIMMING DIETS a fad slimming diet is any type of diet that promises weight loss in a short period of time.The most common diets include the single food diet. Most fad diets are crash diets, so you probably will lose a few pounds. However, once you return to your normal eating patterns, you will put the weight straight back on again. Also, because you lost the weight very quickly, your total weight loss is likely to include loss of lean tissue - muscle and water - rather than fat. This can have very serious health risks. Fad diets also reduce your metabolic rate making further weight loss more difficult and weight gain much easier!. DOCTOR-PRESCRIBED-DIETS Doctor prescribed diets are prescribed in order to cure various health problems there are diets for diabetics, for hypertension, for hyper thyroid, diets for patients with high levels of cholesterol in the blood and for other types of problems. LIFESTYLE DIETS Lifestyle diets are more than a mere matter of foods. Diets in this cases are only one of the aspects of related way of life, sometimes something like a « religion », meaning rules to be followed during all your life, some of this diets are the Macrobiotic diet, Vegetarian diet, Vegan diet, Pyramid diet or Mediterranean diet MACROBIOTICS The macrobiotic diets derive from greek , these diets include eating grain as a staple food , supplemented with vegetables, and have two recommendations : to avoid eating too much, and chew well before swallowing. The macrobiotic diets following two forces Yin and Yang. Yin food is stimulating, for example sugar or coffee. Yang food is strengthening, but stagnating if over-consumed , for exemple meat or eggs. The goal of these diets is to create a balance of whole grains,vegetables ,beans,fruit,nuts. VEGETARIAN DIETS The vegetarian diets consist in to eliminate meat,fish and in many cases, eggs and dairy products . Vegetarianism is associated with the philosophy of living a more peaceful life in harmony with laws and principles. There are some strict vegetarians, known as vegans , avoid all food from the animal kingdoms including eggs and dairy products. Strict vegan eat all the product uncooked and raw. Less strict vegetarians who consume milk and dairy products are known lactovegetarians while those who include eggs are called ovolactovegetarians . Vegetarian diets have reduced the risk of heart disease,certain types of cancers FOOD PYRAMID The food pyramid aims to correct food errors. It follows three basic principles: variety, balance and moderation .Variety aincludes many different foods that together meet the necessary recommendations. Balance, a balanced diet consists of incorporating adequate amounts of food from all 5 groups of animals each day providing necessary nutritious calories. Moderation consists of carefully selecting Food and Drinks in order to help control calories and total qualities of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, salt and sugar.
