Macbeth is fighting a battle at that moment, he is a soldier, perhaps the best of all, because he managed to win the Battle of Scotland almost alone. That’s why the King of Scotland, Duncan, wants Macbeth to become Cawdor’s Thane because the previous one had betrayed him. As we were told before, the three witches meet Macbeth and his friend Banquo. They call Macbeth both Thane and King, but he is confused because he is neither. Banquo is said to be the progenitor of a line of kings. Afterwards, the witches disappear and Macbeth remains with his doubts. He begins to think about what the witches have told him and comes to the conclusion that they may have predicted the future as Thane of Cawdor must be executed. In the meantime, the King of Scotland tells him of his new position as Thane of Cawdor and that his eldest son (Malcolm) will be his heir. Macbeth sends a letter to his wife (Lady Macbeth) informing her of the encounter with the witches and she devises a plan to kill the King of Scotland so that Macbeth may become King. The protagonist is so oppressed by his wife that he will eventually kill Duncan during a visit to his own castle. Act II Banquo and his son cannot sleep because they feel uncomfortable in Macbeth Castle, as if they had a bad feeling. In fact, they leave the castle. In the meantime, Macbeth still thinks of the witches' prophecies and sees a bloody dagger floating in the airway leading him to the king’s chambers. Lady Macbeth enters after her husband has killed Duncan. After his death, doubts about the perpetrator of the circumcision began to circulate. As Macbeth is in shock, Lady Macbeth takes control of the situation and diverts attention to the servants, who could have killed Duncan as they were guarding his room. The king’s sons also leave the castle for fear of dying, and as a result, Macbeth becomes king of Scotland. MacDuff, Baron of Fife, who found the King’s body in the morning, starts to suspect Macbeth because he’s behaving strangely. Act III Banquo and his son Fleance are invited to the banquet to celebrate the new king. Banquo remembers the prophecy of witches and hopes it will be fulfilled in the future. Macbeth remembers it too, but he hopes the opposite. Banquo and Fleance inform Macbeth that they want to go for a ride and that they won’t come back until the sunset. Macbeth thinks Banquo suspects that he’s a murderer and wants to kill both his friend and his son. He tells his wife, but she refuses to kill other people, so Macbeth sends his subordinates to do it. Banquo dies but Fleance manages to escape. During another banquet after the murder, Macbeth learns that Fleance is still alive. Suddenly the ghost of Banquo appears sitting in the place of Macbeth at the banquet, but only the king can see him. The latter begins to show signs of mental imbalance and the wife decides to send home all the guests.
