THE DYNASTY OF THE TUDOR FAMILY By Matteo Savoia THE WAR OF THE TWO ROSES The War of the Two Roses (1455-1485) was a war for the possession of the English throne and was fought between supporters of the House of York and those of the House of Lancaster between 1455 and 1485. The conflict ended only in 1485 with the appointment as king by Henry VII Tudor of the Lancaster family. To prevent the York family could still claim the throne, married Elizabeth of the York family and unified the two families and the two coats of arms. The Tudors reigned in England for 118 years EDWARD VI After Henry VIll's death in 1547, Edward VI of England ascended the throne.
