ROME: is the capital of Italy and is one of the most beautiful cities in the world thanks to its architecture, artistic and cultural heritage. It was founded by Romulus in 753BC and the Etruscans gave the name of Rome; many building we can now admire were built during the Flavian dynasty, the dynasty of Constantine and in the baroque, neo classicism and neo-renaissance times; this has helped and embellished the city and now it is an important centre for tourism. Villa Borghese: is an area located not far from the centre of Rome that contains buildings, sculptures, monuments and fountains of baroque and neoclassical style. is the perfect place to take a walk in and visit the Borghese Gallery where there are works of art by Canova, Bernini and other important artists. Vatican City: the Vatican is the smallest state in the world and boasts a very important cultural artistic heritage. Here we can find the largest Catholic Church in the world, St Peter’s, which was built in more than 100 years and it was built by the greatest artists of the time. Colosseum: is definitely the symbol of Rome and one of the best-preserved buildings; is an ancient Roman amphitheatre and is one of the most iconic symbols of ancient Rome. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as animal hunts and mock sea battles. The Colosseum is a massive oval-shaped structure made of stone and concrete. LONDON: is the largest city in the British Isles, it is located in the southern part of England and it lies on the river Thames. The river Thames runs through the heart of London and has played an important role in the city's history and development. London is a melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities, with over 300 languages spoken in the city. This diversity is reflected in the city's food, music, and art scenes. Great Britain is made up of England, Scotland and Wales, while Ireland is not included, UK is the country that consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland but the Republic of Ireland is not included; eventually, the British Isles refers to the islands of Great Britain and Ireland, including the Republic of Ireland and the thousands of smaller islands located near to the cost. Places of Interest: London’s most important places of interest include Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the King of the UK and is very famous for the Changing of Guards ceremony; Westminster Abbey is a gothic cathedral, where many royal coronations took place. Among the most important museums we find the British Museum, built in a neo classical style and the National Gallery, full of famous paintings. London is one of the greenest cities in the world thanks to its numerous parks such as Hyde Park, in the city centre and Green Park, a royal park located near to Buckingham Palace. Airports of London: London's public transport system is one of the most extensive and efficient in the world, with the famous Underground network, but also air communication is very developed. London has many airports to facilitate connection with the rest of the British Isles, Europe and around the world. Among the most important we find Heathrow which is located 25 kilometres west of the city centre and is connected by the Piccadilly line. Gatwick Airport is a little further away and is not connected to central London by underground but by trains and buses. From Stansted and Luton many low-cost flights depart but are located even further from the English capital. MILAN: is a city located in northern Italy and is the capital of the Lombardy region and is the second-most populous city in Italy, after Rome. Milan is known as a global fashion capital but it is also famous for its beautiful architecture, including the stunning Milan Cathedral and the Sforza Castle. Milan is a popular tourist destination in Italy, known for its fashion, art, culture, and history. There are many things to see and do in Milan, ranging from visiting historical landmarks to shopping in trendy boutiques. The Duomo di Milano: The Duomo di Milano is the largest Gothic cathedral in Italy and is known for its beautiful architecture, in fact the exterior is made up of white marble and features more than 3,400 statues, 135 gargoyles, and 700 figures in total. The construction of the Duomo di Milano began in 1386 and took nearly six centuries to complete. It was built to honour the city's patron saint, St. Ambrose, and the Virgin Mary. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II: This elegant shopping arcade is one of the world's oldest shopping malls, with high- end shops, cafes, and restaurants. Castello Sforzesco: The Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by Francesco Sforza, who was the Duke of Milan at the time. The castle has been destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout history, with the current structure dating back to the 1900s. In the Sforza Castle there is Michelangelo's "Rondanini Pietà," which is an unfinished sculpture, housed in the Museum of Ancient Art. VENICE: Venice is a city located in north-eastern Italy and is renowned for its unique and picturesque canal network and the isles are connected by bridges. St. Mark's Square: is the main public square in the city and home to several significant buildings, including St. Mark's Basilica, a Byzantine architecture with its intricate mosaics and ornate design and the Doge's Palace. Rialto Bridge: is the oldest and most famous bridge that crosses the Grand Canal, offering beautiful views. Gondolas: are traditional and iconic rowing boats, symbol of Venice.
