SLIDE 1 The Discrimination against the Women and Minority Groups SLIDE 2 CONTENTS • Definition of discrimination • The story of the women’s discrimination and minority groups • Examples of real stories • Conclusions • Bibliography SLIDE 3 The discrimination is a treatment not equal towards an individual or a group based on their categorical membership. By the early 1990s the discrimination against women and minority groups had grown manifestly. The discrimination also involved workplace where women belonging to classes such as religion, race and culture were discriminated. SLIDE 4 At the end of 1993 the Unite Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed the declaration on the abolition of violence against women. Only in 1966 the possibility for women to access to public workplace was recognized. Women’s jobs were created but less paid and less prestige. SLIDE 5 There is a disparities in the world of work and this disparity could be attributed to the presence of sons for the women. Most women with sons or beginning of a pregnancy aren’t taken for easy work. SLIDE 6 Many women said that they have aborted for economic conditions because the conditions were desperate to grow a baby. SLIDE 7 Discrimination also occurs indirectly , like the case of many women aren’t hired to work had finally found work. When she had a son, she did not renew her contract. After the birth of the baby, Marina gave the curriculum in several companies but had difficulties to be accepted because she was a mother and was not seen able to cover that role for the company. SLIDE 13 The second story is that of Carolina Morace. She is an Italian footballer who stated that in Italy it is hard to recognize the social importance and economics of the Italian women's sports based on prejudices against women. Although he has won many awards with his team, they are not recognized as high as those of male football. SLIDE 14 Conclusions Althought there have been regulations concerning protection on discrimination against women in the workplace, the situation has not improved. Even today among our offices there are cases of indirect discrimination against women.
