ROMEO AND JULIET The story is set in Verona, where there is a feud between the Montagues and the Capulets. One night the Capulets host a ball where Romeo first meets Juliet. After the ball, Romeo and Juliet meet on her balcony, where they promise love to each other. With Friar Laurence's help, the lovers get secretly married. Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, challenges Romeo to a duel. Romeo declines and his friend Mercutio takes his place in the duel and gets killed. Romeo then kills Tybalt to avenge the dead friend. For this offense, the Prince of Verona banishes Romeo from the city. Meanwhile, Lord Capulet wants Juliet to marry Paris, unaware of her marriage to Romeo. Friar Laurence then gives Juliet a potion that will put her in a long sleep. He will warn Romeo and he will be waiting for her when she wakes up in the family tomb, but Romeo never gets the message. He sees her dead on her tomb and drinks poison out of desperation. Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead se she stabs herself with his dagger because she doesn't want to live without his lover.
