The lamb is a poem which represents God's presence in Creation, it's a dialogue between the child (that represents the poet) and the lamb. 1. The poem opens with a question to which the last stanza provides the answer. The speaking voice of a child asks to a lamb if it knows who its Creator is, so he lists all the gifts that this Creator bestowed on the animal. He gave it life, food, drink, wool to protect it from the cold and a ‘tender voice' - the gift of song. 2. In the second one instead the poet introduces the answers, in which there is the name of God who represents the Creator because he says that who created the lamb has his own name, is the lamb of god and he became a little child, probably jesus and he is meek and mild like lamb. (the child shows his deep joy in the company of the lamb who is like him) There is an identification of the lamb, God, and the child, all three are part of the same dimension, reality, balance. lamb symbole of innocence, associated with purity and childhood. THE TIGER: "The Tyger" by William Blake is composed of 6 four-line stanzas. poem with the same meaning of the lamb. In the first one, the poet is addressing to a tiger which, unlike the lamb, is more a symbol, than a realistic animal. Because of its colour, the tiger was shining brightly in "the forest of the night". This expression evokes at the same time a realistic setting (the jungles where real tigers actually live) but also a symbolic one: the dark and mysterious world of chaos before creation. The central question of the poem is who created the tiger but this question doesn't recive a satisfactory answer because we are in the world of experience. In the second stanza, the poet imagines this mighty Creator who had to explore the seas and the skies to find the eyes of the tiger. in The third stanza The speaker imagines the kind of effort and skill that must have gone into creating the tiger, The speaker wonders about the tools the tiger's creator must have used, imagining that the tiger's brain was created in a forge. this underline that the creation is amazing but at the same time frightening. The poet mentions a time when the tiger was so bright that stars were jealous and cry. At this time the poet asks if when God created the tiger was happy And if the tiger’s creator was the same who made the lamb. At the end the speaker addresses the tiger again, this time asking not just who could create this fearsome beast—but who would dare. is scary but beautiful at the same time. my heart leaps up when i behold, Wordsworth This short poem is about the relationship with nature and childhood and about growing up and lose something.
