UNITED STATES Capital: Washington Government: Republic Language: American English Currency: Us dollar The United States bordering with Canada to the north, Mexico to the south, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The continetal US form 50 United States of America (Alaska and Hawaii) are separated. New England: occupies the north east of the USA. The city of Boston is New England’s cultural and commercial hub. States: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine. The Mid Atlantic Region: The two main cities are New York and Philadelphia. New Jersey’s beaches and Pennsylvania’s Amish country are major scenic attractions. States: New York State, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. The Great Lakes Region: Lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan and Superior. Everything is big here, including the famous Niagara Falls, situated on the border of Canada and the Usa. Chicago is the region’s largest, other cities are Indianapolis, Cleveland and Detroit. States: Illinois,Indiana,Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota. The Southeast and Florida: diverse landscapes from Appalachian Mountains to the marshlands of Florida. States: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Virginia, Maryland. The Deep South: is predominantly agricoltural. States: Lousiana,Arkansas,Mississippi,Alabama. The Great Plains or Midwest: is a land of endless spaces. Mounth Rushmore sculptured in the rocks of the Black Hills in South Dakota is an impressive monument attracting a great number of tourists. States: North and South Dakota, Nebraska, lowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma. Texas: States: Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. The Rocky Mountains Region: The region boats three National Parks: Yellowstone, Glacier and Colorado Mesa Verde. States: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado. The Southwest: The most important attraction is Las Vegas in Nevada. States: Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico. The Pacific Coast States: It has a varied landscape with mountain. California has developed into one of the most visited regions in the country. The city of California are: San Francisco and Los Angeles. States: Washington, Oregon, California. FLORIDA: is a peninsula located in the South of the USA Why go Florida attracts visitors for white sandy beaches and its beautiful National parks. Where to go and What to see The east coast’s landmarks include the city of Miami, with the world famous Miami Beach, Palm Beach and the Space Coast. In Orlando there are Walt Disney World Resort. Is also home to SeaWorld a Marine-life adventure park, and universal Studios. What to do There are sport and activities such as fishing, biking, Saling, Swimming and Surfing. What to eat Excellent oranges, tangerines and grapefruits. CALIFORNIA: is located on the western coast of the USA. Why go There are very few places, there are Sierra Nevada, Death Valley. California have diverse cities such as San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Los Angeles is associated with Hollywood, i san iconic movie symbol. Universal Studios, also in Los Angeles. Where to go and what to see So Cala s the south coast is nicknamed runs from los Angeles to Mexico. Famous beaches such as Long Beach and exclusive ones like Malibu Beach. Along the central coast you will find Santa Barbara. What to do The famous location are Santa Monica, La Jolla a seaside at north of San Diego where one of the most activities is swimming. In winter world class ski resort troughout Sierra Nevada. National parks: Yosemite,Death Valley,Lassen, Sequoia and kings Canyon. A trip to California Wouldn’t be complete without a drive along California’s Highway as the Pacific Coast Highway. What to eat The Mexican influence explains the popularity of tacos, nachos, tortillas and burritos. California is also a great wine producer. NATIONAL PARKS Death Valley: (California and Nevada) This park is knows for its estremes. Zabriskie Point offers spectacular views of the Badlands formed of saline mud and clay. Death Valley receives a million visitors a year. Everglades: (Florida) This park is located at the south end of the Everglades. It has a unique mix of tropical and temperate plants and animals including. The Grand Caynon National Park (Arizona) Carved out by the Colorado River, the Grand Caynon is the most spectacular gorge in the world. Yosemite (California) Yosemite is world famous for its granite cliffs. Yosemite has approximately 90 mammal species including squirrels, beavers, black bears and deer. Glacier National Park The park is characterised by forests, alpine, with over 700 mi.es of trails,762 lakes, dozen of glaciers and innumerabile waterfalls.
