INGLESE 1.The 1984 is an anti-utopian novel in the sense that, it shows a possible future society that is anything but ideal and that satirizes existing conditions of society. He describes a future society that it’s controlled by Big Brother, who imposed people many rules and limitation, like the press and communication, he used the propaganda like a dictator, so this novel shows a totalitarian society, that is divided in 3 blocks: Eurasia, Eastasia, and Oceania; the society of Oceania is divided in 3 parties: Inner Party that includes the rulling class; Outer Party, that is formed by middle class, and the Proles that includes the working class. The society that is described is a totalitarism. The protagonist is Winston Smith, he symbolized the man that want maintain moral integrity, he in fact is in opposition with other people, he believed in the values of people. 2.Clarissa and Septimius are two characters of the novel of Virginia Woolf, they can represent her fear of war, she in fact, like Septimius commits suicide to escape away from the consequence of war. She is similar to Clarissa, because she was include in the middle class, and she lives of apparence. 3.The American Dream of Twenties is the rewarded of hard work ,the richness, and other values incarned by bourgesy. 4.Great Gatsby is a work of Fitzgerald, who in this novel, describes Tom that is an arrogant man, Daisy, that is a moody, impulsive and bad woman, that is loved by Gatsby, and Gatsby same, that is a model of rich man, that makes parties, lives of lux and luxury,but died alone. 5.Joyce whith the term ‘’paralisys’’ describes the life that doesn’t change,it is an acceptation of life; he uses the term ‘’epiphany’’ to describe the spiritual manifestation, that in Evelin consist in the show in the memories of her mother, that ask her to take care of her family. 6.Owen is an author many sensible to young victim of war, in his opera he describes the violence, the dirt of the war, the sufferance of the men, that must go away from their home to fight a war, full of desperation, and they haven’t the hope to back home, because the war sign their brain with ugly memories, or their bodies with mutilation. 7.Joyce with ‘’epiphany’’ intends the spiritual show,the other themes are the changes of life, the possibilities, the difficult life, the adolescence, the paralysis,and other. 8.The human nature is fragile,corruptible,the man is ambicious,and can make many chance in front of a. possibility. LIFE AND WORKS FITZGERALD Francis Scott Fitzgerarld was born in 1896 in Minnesota, he studied in Catholic school, and went in Precenton University. In 1917 he go to war, and write his first work, that capture the materialistic culture. In 1920 he married Zelda Sayre and he continued to write , in 1925 in fact he publicated ‘’Great Gatsby’’, this work haven’t the hoped success,and started to write film to pay his debts, in this situation his wife fall in instability mental. In 1939 he died. Great Gatsby described the social contest of rich middle class maked of parties, apparence, throught the characters , the protagonist of novel is James Gatz, that change his name in Gatsby,Nick, Tom and Daisy, all are blind because they live of illusion and apparence. Daisy is the object of desire of Gatsby, but when he was accused by a crime, she doesn’t help him, because she doesn’love him, but his richness, like other people that are around him.The novel is setting in Long Island, that is divided in West Egg, where live less class, and East Egg ,where live high class,the years when is setting this work are the twenties,so the prohibitionism years, Gatsby is the opposition of the life of prohibitionism,because he lived in the richness. GEORGE ORWELL George Orwell was born in India in 1903 ,his real name is Eric Blair, he studied in St Ciprian’s ,and Eton.He unstand the modality of teach in England, and he developed an indifference of values,and he was ateo and socialist, he was near to socialism and the problem of people, for this reason he passed some years of his live in experience of poverty, he stayed in hostels and places where were the poor men,after this period he started to write, with his pseudonym .In 1936 he married Eileen , that share his ideal , in this period he go in Spain to report the situation of Catalonia ,when he back to home,adopt a baby .His works many important were Animal Farm and Dubliners, that was tell with a realistic language. VIRGINIA WOOLF AND MRS DALLOWAY Virginia Woolf was born in London in 1922,her education consisted of private lessons of Greek and access to father’s library , at the death of her mother, he met the violence of her father and only when he died she was free and with her sister move to city near London, here they are inclused in Bloomsbury group , an association that is sensible to theme like the free sexuality and other ideas in contrast with the ideas of years. In 1912 she married Leonard Woolf,that she will love like a best friend but no like as lover.She write Mrs Dalloway and other work, the most important is a room of one’s own important to feminist culture. Virginia Woolf is considered a sensible woman, she died because she commits suicide. JAMES JOYCE He was born in Dublin in 1882, he was educated from Jesuit school. He is interested to European culture ,and rappresent the symbol of cosmopolitan man.He commits many travel , he went to Trieste ,where he met Svevo and teach him the English .In 1904 he married Nora Bernacle, that is older than 20 years, with her, he had two children , the dauther had mental illness that Joyce searched to take care ina structure,he and the rest of family, after being in Zurigo, return to Dublin,after 22 years of personal exile.Between his important works ,we can find Dubliners that includes 14 stories, the most important is Evelin, that described the story of a young girl that is in front of two choise, the first is go away with Franz her boyfriend,and the second is take care of her family, she choose the second because she rembered of the promise that she made to death mother . OWEN AND BROOK Wilfred Owen and Rupert Brook were considered the ‘’war poets’’, because they tell of this theme in their works.  Brook was born in 1887 and after be educated in sportive school, decided to enlist,but soon contracted a blood illness and died in April of 1915. In his works important are the
