The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde RIASSUNTO Chapter 1 -STORY OF THE DOOR Mr Utterson, a lawyer, was a really serious and cold man. He liked drinking gin and was very fond of theatre, even if he hadn't crossed the doors of one for 20years.His best friend was Richard Enfield, a scientist, with whom he was used to have a walk across the town every Sundays. One day, while they were walking, they reached a big house where there was a samll door. Enfield asked Utterson if he had never noticed that door before and started talking about a strange event that had happened some nights before; Enfield told that near that street, he saw a young girl running away from a man who stumping along the street and tramped over the child's body, who immediatly started screaming. Luckly Enfield was able to catch the man and the child's family asked him a payement .The man, called Hyde ,didn't oppose resistance, he entered the door and consigned 10 pounds and a cheque with another person's signature over. The signature was the one of a common friend of them, a respectable man, who maybe, was responsible of a mistake made in youth. Chapter 2 -SEARCHING FOR MR HYDE That night Mr utterson came home in sombre spirit, he sat at his desk and had a look at Dr Jekyll's will. While reading, he discovered that he designed all his possesions for Mr Hyde, in case of death or absence for over 3 months. This sounded very strange to the lawyer and decided to analyse this thing with Mr Lanyon. So he put on his coat and immediatly headed for Mr Lanyon's house. Here the two friends came to the conclusion that Dr Jekyll had gone mad and his protégé Mr Hyde was trying to stray him. So Utterson began to control the door from where the creature entered and finally he was able to watch him in his face and make him some questions. Utterson, not satisfied, decided to have more information from Poole, Dr Jekyll's butler. Poole told him that Hyde had the key of the laboratory and Utterson thought thet maybe Jekyll had been blackmailed for some old mistekes and made up his mind to help him. Chapter 3- DR JEKYLL WAS QUITE AT EASE 15 days later, Jekyll gave one of his pleasant dinner with his old friends. Utterson decide to remain after the dinner to have a chat with Jekyll about his will. Utterson said that he found it incomprehensible the fact that Jekyll wanted Mr Hyde to heir all his possesions. The reason was that in Utterson's opinion, Hyde was a very abominable and strange man. The doctor turned pale and explained that unluckly he wasn't in the position to reject Hyde, but ensured his friend that he could get rid of him whenever he wanted. Chapter 4-THE CAREW MURDER CASE Nearly a year later, London was hit by a lot of crimes. One evening, a maid servant living alone, was sitting outside his house staring at the sky, when he noticed a old beatiful gentleman and a small man, a certain Mr Hyde. At one moment the two man stopped and the shortest man began to hit the other with a big stick, killing him. At this sight, the maid fainted and when she came to herself, she immediatly called the police. At the police's arrival the old man was dead and held an envelope addressed to Mr Utterson. This envelope was brought to the lawyer the following day morning and, informed of the murder by
