The Lamb This poem from Songs of Innocence is an invocation to the lamb that symbolizes innocence, it is told by the little child and is about the creator of the lamb: it is composed by two stanzas, the first is made up of rhetorical questions and in the second there is the answer. The syntax is simple like a nursery rhyme and there is a trochaic tretrameter. Blake defined himself as a child and he is connected to God because he had the power to create and the power of imagination. The Tyger the subject of his poem is a tyger whose origins are buried in mystery and darkness. the poem is formed by six stanzas and there are only questions. The Tyger is a sublime creature, there are contrasts in everything and Blake takes up the myth of Icarus and Prometheus. God is good but also bad and is similar to a blacksmith. the Tyger is the symbol of the industrial revolution.
