An overview of t. S. Eliot and james joyce, two influential modernist authors. Eliot, born in missouri and educated at harvard, is known for his works 'the waste land' and 'the hollow men,' which reflect a pessimistic view of the world before his conversion to anglicanism. His masterpiece, 'the waste land,' expresses the condition of modern man in a chaotic and meaningless world. Joyce, born in dublin, is the author of 'ulysses' and 'dubliners.' 'ulysses' is considered the most important expression of the modern age, while 'dubliners' portrays the decadent atmosphere of the city. Both authors used innovative literary techniques, such as the objective correlative, to convey emotions and reveal truths.
