He was born in Russia in 1920 but he grew up in the USA. He was first a scientist and a researcher in fact he studied astronomy, chemistry and biology. He felt never tired of wondering question like the origins of the universe, the impact of technology in society (especially the development of robots, he was the inventor of robotics) and the development of artificial intelligence. His literature career began in 1939 with the appearance of a short story called “Marooned Off Vesta”. His most famous scientific series was the Foundation trilogy. He approached people to science in a funny way, like reading his story. Asimov’s writings are not limited only to science fiction, he wrote also about Shakespeare, the Bible and history. He wrote nearly five hundred books. He died in 1992 at the age of 72. SUMMARY OF “TRUE LOVE” This story speaks about Joe and Milton, that are respectively a computer and his programmer. Joe is the Milton’s private computers and is part of the Multivac-complex and so it is connected with other parts all over the world; but it isn’t a normal computer, because he is programmed to speak. One day Milton ask Joe to help him to found his true love, that for Milton is abstract, so they began to search his ideal girl. Thanks to Multivac-complex, Joe can reach the data bank of every human being and together start the selection. -First they eliminate all men. -Then, eliminate all women younger than 25 and oldest than 40, all with an IQ under 120, all with an height under 150 and over 175 centimeters, all with leaving children and all with red hair. After two weeks they were down to 235 women. They continue the selection and Milton bring in holographs of women and Joe must check the list for similarities. Eight are very good matches, and Milton o rder Joe arrange to have them assigned here, one at time. The meeting with the first one wasn’t good, because despite she was a beautiful woman, he didn’t feel any touch of true love and it was the same with all eight. So Milton leave the work to find his true love to Joe, and to do this he was going to tell him everything he know about himself, undergoing a psychiatric examination and Joe would have to compare his data bank with the data bank of the girls and must find correlations. The plan was to make Joe the perfect digital copy of Milton, so he could understand him better and when he found a woman's data bank that he understand as well, would be Milton’s true love. Then they find a data bank that fit perfectly their and her name is Charity Jones. Next it is a matter of adjusting the work sheet in such a way as get Charity assigned them. Then the police came to arrest him on grounds of malfeasance in office, it was for something had taken place 10 years before and Joe was told about it, so it was easy to
