Joyce direct interior time, he enters in the time of the mind and lost himself by the reality 2. Woolf indirect interior time,she doesn’t lost herself from the reality when she lost in her emotions. She was born in London and educated at home that have a negative effect in her life She suffered a lot because of her mom’s death. She decides to live in an isolated house with her husband who loves her a lot and tries to stop her by suicides herself,but in the end she does it. Interior Time: Virginia Woolf is interested in the subjectivity of her characters, she’s particular concentrated with the female subjectivity. When we read her novels we have the feeling of entering in the character's inner world→ time is dilated and a single moment can stay for a very long time; we have that feeling through indirect interior monologue which she uses to represent the connection between chronological and interior time!! So we see the point of view of the characters themselves, speaking within their minds and showing their feelings,sensations… In this technique there is the occasional presence of a narrator who arranges the characters’ thoughts to give them some order. Moments of being To understand her technique of indirect interior monologue we have to look at her explanation, she calls it “moments of being” the moments of intensity,perception of vision which illuminated our lives. “Examine for a moment an ordinary mind on an ordinary day, a myriad of impressions came to it, from all sides they came,as an incessant shower of innumerable atoms. Life isn’t a series of horse drawn carriage with lamp symmetrically arranged,but it is a luminous circle of lights, a semi-transparent envelope surrounding us. Mrs.Dalloway Her action is limited to the events of one day in the centre of London. It opens in a ordinary day with Clarissa Dalloway that leaves her house to buy some flower for the party, but during the day she is captured by memories: she think in details to her first
