Adeline Virginia Woolf – Life and her feminism (da aggiungere) Adeline Virginia Woolf was born in London on 25 January 1882. Her father, lord Leslie Stephen, is an author and a critic, while her mother is Julia Prinsep-Stephen, a model. Virginia and Virginia’s sister Vanessa were educated at home, receiving private Greek lessons, while her’s male brothers studied at school and at the University of Cambridge. In her youth Virginia was the victim of two serious episodes that deeply marked her for the rest of her life: the attempted sexual assault by one of her half-brothers in 1888 and the death of her mother in 1895, with whom she had a very strong emotional bond, remaining alone with her father, with whom, on the other hand, she had a relationship of tension and aggression. In these conditions he suffers from neurosis, a disease that at the time cannot be treated with the right medicines. In 1904 her father died and for the writer, paradoxically, this constituted a rebirth, feeling, finally, free to express herself in her literary activity. Together with her brother Thea and sister Vanessa she left her childhood home to move to the Bloomsbury district. In that year, the English novelist married Leonard Woolf and took part in the foundation of the Bloomsbury Group, a group of intellectuals which will dominate English cultural life for about thirty years. Their meetings were on Thursday evening and they discussed about politics, art and history. In these years from repetitions to the works in the evening in a suburban college and meditates in the suffragette groups (???). Their reputation was based on the revolutionary stream-of-consciousness technique style that was developed by Virginia. Despite her literary letter and the writing of her first story, "The Voyage Out", Virginia Woolf continued to have numerous psychic crises and was hit by a great depression from which she achieved success and suicide. In 1925 she created one of her main literary masterpieces, "Mrs. Dalloway", which tells the story of Clarissa Dalloway, a woman who tries to make a party and the beginning of the story she is found by a florist. At the same time is told the story of Septimus Warren Smith, a veteran of the world war, very tried psychologically, who must go to be visited by a specialist, Sir William Bradshaw. Meanwhile Clarissa returns home and receives the unexpected visit of Peter Walsh, the man who has fallen her in love in her youth. Then Peter leaves Clarissa's home and goes to Regent's Park, where he meets Septimus who is going to Sir William. He is disappointed, as William tells him to stay in one of his clinics, so at six o'clock in the afternoon he throws him out of his bedroom window and he dies. All the characters that are in some way important during the day they are present in the evening at the Clarissa party. So Clarissa learns of the death of Septimus and feels a deep connection with him. So, although the protagonists do not know each other, the death of the one provokes in the other what that Virginia calls "moment of being", or moments arising from events that at first sight may seem insignificant , but in reality they are moments of revelation,
